Xiao Fei Yang has a KL restaurant and one in Damansara Utama. Instead of braving the traffic into KL city, SG foodie visited the Damansara Utama branch. Upon being seated, you'll realise that each set of utensils are glad-wrapped and sealed (supposedly sterilised and wrapped) which remains SG foodie of how restaurant in China that does the exact same thing. SG foodie ordered the half-half soup base (ma-la soup on one side and herbal soup on the other). See the multitude of garlic cloves and other spices floating about in both of the soup? Ample proof that the soups are brewed for hours and you can truly taste the difference! SG foodie absolutely loved the soups - both the spicy and non-spicy ones.

Of course this place is recommended on cooler/rainy days rather than on super-hot, humid days - although the restaurant is air-conditioned, the hot boiling soup from the steamboat centred tables (speaking of which, the tables are all manufactured for this purpose where you can't see/feel the gas canister) give off a lot of heat.

Hi Alvina, No I don't think Xiao Fei Yang is in Singapore but you can probably try the Beach Road areas where there are various Chong Qing steamboat places for something similar. Enjoy! =)
