MUST TRY: Pan Heong Restaurant, Batu Caves

Pan Heong Restaurant
Cantonese horfu
SG foodie was introduced to Pan Heong Restaurant a few months back and have been coming back to this place a few times now. Pan Heong is popular! Some days you have to fight for a table, some days the restaurant will distribute numbers for the waitlist. The restaurant has a few accolades to its name with newspaper features displayed on its walls.

Rice porridge
Fried beehoon
Fried chicken wings
Prawn paste pork slices
Pan Heong is famous for its milky smooth porridge (you can choose to add fish slices, century eggs, etc) that is just the right consistency without the need to add soy sauce or pepper to enhance the taste. It's cantonese fried hor fun with gravy (you can choose fish slices, mixed seafood, prawns, etc) is also a favourite. The fried bee hoon with canned pork chops is another staple. The crunchy fried chicken wings is popular with both adults and children. And the prawn paste pork slices while popular, is an addition that SG foodie will recommend only if you are really hungry.
