SINGAPORE: Raffles City Basement - The Hand Burger

Graving for some good burgers and with some time to spare, SG foodie brought the family to The Hand Burger. Located at the basement food paradise of Raffles City, The Hand Burger is made to be like an old-style school canteen with wooden tables and benches.

The burgers all come with a choice of side of either fries, soup or salad.K2 is a bacon-lover but dreads vegetables hence it was the original Hand Burger with additional bacon strips and fries for K2 while K1 chose the dory fish burger accompanied by mushroom soup. SG foodie shared a The Works burger, (with simply everything [beef, eggs, bacon, onion rings, etc] and accompanied with mushroom soup, with DH and topped off with an extra order of onion rings. As you're waiting for your burger to arrive, the service staff automatically brings you glasses of water and you can see into the open-concept kitchen where the restaurant's chefs are baking the burger buns and other preparations.

SG foodie had a cup of coffee and absolutely loved the cup and saucer which stated: "Coffee is  my life" (so true for SG foodie who can use an intravenous coffee drip especially in the mornings! LOL!).

The burgers are pretty large portions but were promptly demolished as they were that good! SG foodie especially liked the dory fillet burger which however is served with a spicy mayo sauce that K1 couldn't take; but thankfully the mayo were mainly on the bun so K1 just avoided eating the bun that had the sauce on it. Order this for children without the spicy mayo but the dory fillet were nicely battered and fried. K2 loved the onion rings although K2 generally do not take onions.

This is a good place to people watch too as it's an open-concept restaurant that allows you to see people come and go. A good place to visit for both young and old especially when you have a burger craving.
