Anyway since it was dinnertime when SG foodie arrived, it was decided that with the two Japanese choices there and one being a BBQ restaurant which would leave clothes smelling of food, SG foodie went with Kiku Zakura where SG foodie had heard some good comments about. Seated in a booth, orders were taken. Price range here is about RM40-50 per person so certain expectations are there.
But when the food arrived.... OMG!!
Kiku Zakura's pathetic soup! |
VS Rakuzen's Salmon Head soup |
The bento set ordered was about RM45 very expensive for the contents AND it wasn't very tasty; AND it doesn't come with a bowl of rice like at most other restaurant. For RM45, you're better off ordering a bento set at Kampachi Equatorial Hotel or Pavilion, where you're assured of quality sashimi, sushi and other delicious contents. Service at Kiku Zakura wasn't superb either. Seriously not worth the visit. SG foodie was truly disappointed.
SG foodie understands now why the restaurant wasn't very crowded on a weekend though the restaurant has purportedly been at the mall for 10 years now.
