DON'T BOTHER: Ikuzo Ramen SS2
Apologies for the many months of silence. It's not that SG foodie has stopped her diet of good food (God forbid!) but that she has been caught up with work and some family matters that required some attention. BUT she's back!
Anyway SG foodie has a fear of driving into SS2 on her own as such she's usually only there when DH drives and she has seen Ikuzo Ramen sprout in one of the shoplot there. So having run out of ideas of where to eat and being way too lazy to cook, SG foodie and the gang decided to try out Ikuzo Ramen.
The decor at Ikuzo is clean, industrial lines which is actually quite comfortable. SG foodie got a seat quite easily at lunchtime on a Saturday and looked through the simple menu. You choose the type of accompaniments you want (cha-shu, chicken, etc) with your ramen and the type of ramen (thick or thin). SG foodie had the simple cha-shu ramen while DH had the mixed ramen and the younger one had a fried prawn ramen. We all choose the thin ramen and also added on a side order of fried gyoza and edamame.
The food came pretty quickly so if you're hungry, this is the place to come to! Unfortunately the ramen wasn't fantastic but the soup was ok. The cha-shu were a disappointment, too fatty and not much taste, they were more like pork slices instead. The two fried prawns really looked quite pathetic in the big bowl too.
Price-wise it's an average of about RM7-9 per bowl of ramen which is reasonable. Would SG foodie return again though? Unlikely.
