Seeing the Lavender bakery had decided to have a restaurant attached to their new shop at the renovated 1Utama old wing so SG Foodie decided to give it a try. She was having some time and space to herself and settled on having the set lunch at Lotable. For RM28, you can choose from a main course of sandwiches or asian dishes with a drink and dessert.
SG Foodie went with a seafood salad baguette that was served with a small salad and some french fries and a cup of tea. The presentation of the food was nicely done as was the service provided. The garden salad served with vinagrette was rather small and SG Foodie wished there was more while the french fries were wonderfully crisped and salted. The seafood salad on the baguette was good but the baguette was not. The baguette was toasted and became too tough to bite into and that didn't make a good sandwich. SG Foodie would have preferred the baguette to have a crispy skin and a soft bread centre as baguette should be and was rather disappointed with the baguette since Lotable is part of Lavender bakery that bakes some of the better buns and breads in Malaysia.
One thing though when SG Foodie was asked how the food was, she did tell them that the baguette was too hard but they didn't do anything about it. SG Foodie eventually gave up trying to bite on the baguette and just forked out the seafood salad atop the baguette. When the food was cleared from the table, no one bothered to ask SG Foodie anything, maybe SG Foodie's ugly face intimidated them?
Dessert of panacotta was served in a small cup. SG Foodie enjoyed the creamy sweet panacotta topped with slightly sourish raspberry juice and fresh blueberries.
SG Foodie may try Lotable again for its other dishes as she saw that the other table ordered a nice sandwich with thick toast served with a decent sized salad that looked delectable but won't recommend sandwiches on baguette from Lotable.
