Ok Din Tai Fung (DTF) is not new to Singaporeans... In fact DTF was in Singapore before it came to KL. SG foodie being the blur block that she is, has only ordered the popular xiao long bao, la mian and fried rice selections when in Singapore. With more time now to try out new menu items, some of which are unique to the KL menu, SG foodie is venturing out of the normal items.
DTF at The Gardens (the new, higher-end wing of Mid Valley megamall, one of SG foodie's favourite hangout coz of their many many food places!) now serves set lunch too! A bowl of la-mian or a plate of fried rice with the crunchy pork chop or other accompaniments with 6 pieces of xiao long bao only for about RM25 (SGD10)! Great deal!
So SG foodie was hungry (again!) and ordered a set lunch plus other ala carte items off the menu. SG foodie loves the Golden Pumpkin with Salted Egg (not sure if this item is available on the Singapore menu) and the Pickled Cucumber are such COOL appetisers (all pun intended). The Red-Wine Cherry Tomatoes are divinely sweet and crunchy at the same time. Trying to be "healthier", SG foodie also ordered some vegetables... baby long beans with minced pork and spinach with garlic. And yes SG foodie finished all of these in one seating. BURP!
