SG foodie is quite a fuss when it comes to cookies and generally avoid them even the Famous Amos ones though SG foodie does enjoy the free smells and the occasional double chocolate Famous Amos cookies. SG foodie chanced upon the California Cookie Company at the weekend flea market at The Curve, the new to-be-seen-in place situated near Mutiara Damansara. Now the truth is SG foodie (unlike what most people think because of her size) is not much of a chocolate person... SG foodie has a love for savoury food more than sweets, not because she doesn't like sweets but because she is such a big fuss-pot!
Back to California Cookie Company (CCC) - they are a husband and wife team (believe the wife is an American while the husband was based in America previously) and makes truly wonderful cookies and stuff using American homemade recipes. Instead of a shop, CCC sets up store at flea markets in most of the more trendy places such as The Curve and Mont Kiara Plaza. The brownies are to-die-for especially if you are a chocolate lover and even SG foodie, who's not much of a chocolate person, absolutely adores the fragrant, soft, moist, chewy and rich chocolate brownies! CCC also makes the traditional big soft cookies that are not too sweet and coying and SG foodie couldn't resist the Haight-Ashbury (oatmeal walnut) cookies. SG foodie is nutty about nuts-filled stuff!
SG foodie hasn't had a chance to get her hands on more of CCC's offerings as she had headed straight for both the brownies and oatmeal cookies three times in a row but CCC does have alot of other yummalicious cookies and cakes to choose from like the blondie (the vanilla cousin of a brownie), double chocolate soft cookies, the American whoopie pies, peanut butter & jelly bars (that SG foodie must get her hands on!), pumpkin pies, apple pies, cakes and more!
